Ohaiyo Gozaimasu!
This week started out with the flu, and ended with 6 new
investigators, and appointments scheduled for everyday this next week!
I got sick on Tuesday...... really sick. Good thing... they
sell cough syrup over the counter in Japan. Oh wait. The DON'T. Makes
ZERO sense... you can buy sake (alcohol) out of vending machines
...but not cough syrup. Japan, man.
I'm feeling better today though. So that is good.
P-Days are so precious, but they are by far the fastest days of the week.
Wednesday...we had EIkaiwa. It was fun. Mine and Elder Stembridge's
class continues to just be so hilarious every week. My favorite is the
writing assignment. We always ask them to share an experience. They
always ask if they can share a "funny" story. The stories are always
so hilarious. Or maybe it is just the way the people read them. Haha.
I figure we've got to be decent teachers. Our class has grown so much
since we first got to Japan.
We had a zone meeting on Thursday. Chiba zone is now massive! Lowry
shimai and I are the only ones without 3 people in our companionship.
We continue to get new missionaries.....and there are none leaving,
so I don't know what President Budge is going to do this next
transfer. Yachiyo really really does not need to become a 4 person
apartment. It could, but there are not enough investigators here for
that to happen. Ideally, I'd really like to just get a new missionary
that we both train. That'd be easiest I think. Zone meeting
was good. Chiba zone, probably the least baptizing zone in the Tokyo
mission, has the MOST baptismal dates scheduled before Christmas. So
the prayers and fasting are paying off!
We also met with F..... shimai. She wasn't really progressing...but we
talked to her about her family, and that led into a discussion about
the Plan of Salvation. She was super interested. It was a miracle. It
led to an appointment and a commitment for her to read some of the
Book of Mormon. She is officially progressing. We have an appointment
scheduled on Wednesday. We are going to extend the baptismal
commitment.
On Friday, we did a lot of finding....but we weren't having a ton of
success. Lately we've been going to random parts of our area (because it
is so massive) and just dendoing there. We hadn't been SUPER successful,
but our diligence pays off time after time. We committed to finding a
new investigator everyday. Sometimes we housed/streeted in VAIN.
But then at the end of the day, we'd get a referral or make an
appointment or through some stroke of luck...we'd find a new
investigator. MIRACLES...just everyday.
We hope to have a total of 4 baptismal dates by the end of this week.
We have an appointment with an old investigator, O..... san, who is
interested in taking the lessons now.
The chorotachi set a new baptismal date this week too, for the 15th.
It's just Awesome. We are seeing so many miracles.
I am really believing in the power of setting goals. It's been so
amazing to me lately....just to see all these miracles.
The language...well. I'm not fluent. But...we have managed to get the
job done...we are finding and teaching. Now we need to baptize!
So much dendo fire right now!!!
I love you guys so much!
I hope things are going great.
Love, MC
