Konnichiwa family!
PHEW! I am exhausted. I just got home from the temple. It was cool. The session was all in English. They like you to do the sessions in your native lanugage and there were 100 missionaries there today so they had English sessions and the Japanese missionaries wore headsets.
The Tokyo temple does go up and not out....but it didn't seem that different to me. I like the Atlanta Celestial room best....but I guess I've only seen Provo and Tokyo.
We went to Shibuya afterwards! Oh my goodness! Such a blast! It really felt like TOKYO...like the mission I had been called to! It was soo cool! It has the biggest /busiest intersection in the world! Yeah I've been there!
We ate at a shabu-shabu restaurant. I've seen alot of them on the streets and was less that pleased to go. On the advertisements it just shows strips of raw meat...and I was always ..."Nihonjin are sick...eating raw meat." But what you do...is you boil the meat in this soy sauce stuff and then you eat it with rice or whatever. IT WAS SO GOOD. It was honto takai though (really expensive)... $20...but apparently all the missionaries go out to Shibuya on temple P-day so I'll just have to remember to save up in the future.
As for me. No worries. I'm definitely not wasting away. I discovered "meijji chocolate." I need to make a mental note not to BUY that anymore. I'm also eating more rice and curry and ramen in addition to my cereal. No worries I'm not gaining either...but the weightloss has plateaued for a while. I'm good with that.
Things are going well with our main investigator, O-----san. We need to get her to come out to church though. The problem is the Nihonjin don't get weekends off and alot of them only have one day off a week. So asking them to come to church and getting a yes out of them is very difficult.
This week we are seeing alot of miracles. We had a salmon and shrimp party with the ward on Saturday. K---- san, an old investigator showed up and we talked about the BOM. She has been an investigator for a long time. She already believes in the BOM, but works at the Narita airport so can't come on Sundays. It is very hard to move forward with these kyudosha without them attending church. We are kind of stuck there.
But...on another note, we are instilling a lot of dendo FIRE in the ward! And alot of the sisters have been coming to lessons with us! They've also been calling us about family and friends that they want us to visit! So Mom, those referrals are paying off on the other side of the world! Keep it up!
I desperately want to see a baptism while I'm in Yachiyo. If we are both here next transfer...I feel like things will really move forward! I have such a good feeling about O-----san.
I've been looking at our progress records/area book now that I understand more of how that works...and I've become more goal oriented. I told Taneda shimai that I really wanted to go for 20 lessons this week. Our numbers have been abysmal...and so we have made a 3 lessons a day goal for this week. On a day like today, PDay, we probably won't have time...but when we dendo...at least with goals we will do more than we THINK we can :)
I believe in my heart that the happiest missionaries are the busiest missionaries. So I want to continue to stay busy.
Eikaiwa continues to be good. I can't believe EIkaiwa is tomorrow. SO fast.
Christiansen shimai and I are going on our exchange Thursday. I've set up 2 spanish less active appointments and a practice mogi lesson with a member. So it should be fun haha. I told CSwags about it at the temple today...haha she seemed less than thrilled about the spanish part. I explained that its mainly just talking in both Spanish and Japanese. Haha... you talk...you say it in Japanese and then if you don't know the Japanese word...you use the spanish word for it. Haha...atleast that is what I do. I like spanish lessons. They are easier for me to understand haha.
So yes, my life is a triangle of language confusion. Initially...I really wanted to have an English doryo next transfer...but now. I just want to stay in Yachiyo with Taneda shimai. It would just be much easier that way. We know how to communicate and we know the area/investigators.
But we will see. Transfers are next Thursday, the 19th. Transfers are always week 7, but week 7 counts as week 1 for the next transfer. So yes, I'm officially a 2nd transfer missionary on Thursday! So weird, ne????
I hope you are having a wonderful week!
Anyways. Aishiteru! Always
Love, Goose
