Hi kazoku!
Okay so konnichiwa is spelled wrong but its the computers fault not mine.
Here is the breakdown.
Sunday
Being officially Dai Sempi, the threat of being called upon to speak in church was a very real fear this week. Luckily Greenburg choro got called and another shimai from District A. Phew. But that means a shimai from District C will be called this week...so I'm a little nervous. I really took for granted the luxury of giving talks in your own language when I was at home...
We went for our temple walk on Sunday...there was this adorable Nihon-jin who spoke to us while we were there. Oh yeah and I did meet Snow shimai's sister.
Monday
It was very typical...but we had a sub today because Gregory Sensai is in Hawaii. The subs name was Ekins sensei. He's kind of this cute little awkward hipster. He reminds me of Clay Dean from Dawson...except with blonde hair.
Tuesday
We played soccer with the new kohai. It was alot of fun. I'm finally adjusting to running around and breathing in this altitude.
I'm realizing how much time there is in a day...and how much time I wasted all the time at home. I want to make the most of my time when I get home.
The devotional tonight was legit. We had an emeritus seventy come speak...and he gave the cutest devotional. He had his grandson who just got home from the TOKYO JAPAN mission speak. It was so exciting hearing from someone who just got back from MY mission. He talked alot about being bold and not wasting any part of your mission because it flies by. I'm starting to believe it and I'm not even there yet.
As for my goals I'm working on memorizing the sermon on the mount this week. It's about 3 chapters in Matthew...I've memorized the first chapter...working on the others. I continue to read the New Testament and Jesus the Christ. Those texts are really helping me learn more about the Savior's life and who he was as a person. I want to strive continually to be more like him.
Oh I am in Alma now in the BOM. I read about Abinadai this week too, Mom. He was a pretty yosh yogensha(awesome prophet). I'm noticing such a trend in my study of the BOM. So many awesome senkyoshi. I want to be that bold. I also read about Alma the Younger's conversion.
I read a talk by Elder Uchtdorf this week called Waiting on the Road to Damascus...and it kind of changed my perspective on things. You should check it out.
Speaking of general authorities. Apparently, July is the apostle's month OFF. That's why I haven't heard from one...boo. Maybe on Sunday??? Snow shimai is in the same ward as Elder Holland and she said that her Mom talked about us to him. Elder Holland has HEARD OF ME!!! AGHHHH. Isn't that the coolest thing you've ever heard!
Wednesday
Our district was in a better mood this week so that made things go by faster. Also...we had this suberashii departure devotional with the director of the International MTC, Brother Mills. He was the old prez of the Fukuoka Dendobu (mission) and he just made me SOOO pumped to go to Japan. It's like there is this great work to do over there. Heber J Grant was a mission president there and opened it up for missionary work and he said that it will be slow at first, but one day Japan will be among the most successful missions. So I don't care that they say that its not a baptizing mission, because I'm going to baptize!
Thursday
We had subs for our subs today. G sensei is still in Hawaii and Tingey sensai is in New Orleands...so we had Ekins, Saito, and Hugo Sensai. Saito sensai has legit got to be the hottest asian dude I've ever seen. All the shimaitachi were like "whatttt???" and then Hugo sensai was Tominaga-san - our first kyudosha!!! Haha And he is super gorgeous too! All the Sensei's here are super hot. I don't get it. Maybe they hire hot dudes who just have the whole package so that the Elders will have someone to look up to...Idk. but its not really fair for the sisters lol.
For service today...Snow shimai and I cleaned the elevators and then used lemon oil to polish the wood. It was exciting...I smelled like pinesol all day.
