Konnichiwa.
My birthday week was pretty good. Sister Hall and I had a good P-day
on Monday, and we did alot of finding on Tuesday. We were able to
visit with C-----, our recent convert. I'm really worried
she's falling off the wagon. I called out dendo shunin (ward mission
leader) though and it is amazing how the Tokyo 2nd ward has reached
out to C-----. It is a great example of members and missionaries
working together. We met with C------ again on Saturday and she
commented on how nice it was to hear from people in the ward. It seems
we've been able to resolve alot of her issues with the church
and she is excited to get back. Unfortunately, it's flu season here in
Tokyo...and C------- got sick during our lesson so she couldn't come
to church Sunday. Hopefully things get better and she can come.
On Wednesday, Elder Whiting, a seventy in the district presidency, who
attends the Tokyo 1st ward, came and spoke to us. He talked about how
we have the authority but we have to seek for the power to teach. It
was a really great conference. The conference was held here in
Senzokuike in the Tokyo 2nd ward. Our relief society made lunch for
all the missionaries. Afterwards, Sister Hall and I had our interviews
with President Budge. The highlight of the conference though was
definitely seeing Brumley shimai. She was so sweet and made me a
birthday present.
On Thursday, we taught 3 lessons..and no one canceled on us. It was
definitely a birthday miracle. We found alot of new investigators and
were able to get in touch with alot of people and make appointments
for this upcoming week. I feel that the work is going forward in a
very good way.
Friday was good. Pretty much another day of finding. We were able to
visit the B----- family and go streeting. We also had a district
meeting. There is an Elder Day in my district. He is a "Day" if I ever
met one. Just has so much energy and likes to talk alot. Haha I like
him alot...he was really funny at EIkaiwa on Wednesday.
In Tokyo 2nd ward, we still have Elder Lee, who is now our district
leader, and his companion, a 3rd transfer missionary named Elder
Barray from France. They seem nice enough. The elders are doing really
well this transfer. They brought like 3 investigators to church on
Sunday. Pretty good stuff. Elder Lofgreen is Elder Days companion in
the Senzokuike ward and Senzokuike sisters are still Callister and
Murdock shimai. Since our area got moved from Tokyo East to Tokyo West
zone, the Shibuya Elders are now our zone leaders. Elder Fukuhara and
Elder Egbert. They seem nice enough. They made everyone sing happy
birthday to me at district meeting. The Tokyo 2nd Elders
gave me some Ferrero Rocher haha...Dad is probably jealous.
Satuday was good too. We were able to meet with C-------, and make
alot of appointments for this upcoming week.
Last night we went to the M------ family's house for dinner. They are
a fun family that has been living in Tokyo for a year. The Dad is from
Peru and the Mom served her mission in Chile. Isn't that cool? They
were a really funny family and all the kids were saying funny stuff.
Sunday school of course was great...like usual...yesterday our teacher
talked about "spriritual triangles" and wanted us to dissect what
Moses was "really" saying about Cain and Abel...something about Eve
having parental hope and trembling??? Yeah I really don't know...
Haha...always hilarious. Still loving the English ward.
Anyways. That was pretty much my week. I look forward to just chilling
today. We have an appointment with R----, our Jehovahs Witness
investigator today...so that should be fun.
Anyways. Love you all!
