Herro.
This week was crazy.
Last Sunday I gave a talk in church on Self mastery. It was pretty
sweet. It was weird speaking in English.
Monday was good. Typical P-day. We just chilled out and then we had an
appointment that night with R-----, one of our new investigators. She's
super Jehovah's Witness though....so it might take some time.
Tuesday was the mission wide, clean the apartment day. I really love
cleaning I've decided. Definitely going to be cleaner when I come home
off the mish. It really bothers me when things are disorganized and
stuff. I can't really focus well.
On Wednesday, everything was pretty much closed, so we had a mission
wide Book of Mormon Reading day. It was really good. I got alot out of
Alma 26. I feel like a majority of the time I think that my
performance has alot to do with the success we see, but this work
isn't mine. It's been kind of a humbling lesson to learn, but this
work is out of my hands really. All I can be is an instrument.
On Thursday we had weekly planning.
We went finding on Friday and we weren't very successful, but we talked to
every non-Japanese person we saw. We are really trying. And gai-jin
dendo is really hard because everyone is Japanese in Tokyo...We
have to be really good at profiling. Sounds bad...but I've gotten
really good at picking out non Japanese speaking people.
We went to Shibuya on New Years Eve and had indo curry with the
Senzokuike sisters. It was really good. I love living in a yon-nin
apartment.
We went to the H---- family's house on Saturday. They are a family in
our ward. They are such good member missionaries. They are really
thinking about families they want to invite over to meet the
missionaries. They gave us 7 referrals!
Last night we went to visit a family marked on our less active list,
the -------s. Brumley shimai didn't know who they were...turns out
they are definitely not less active. What's more than that...we
visited their house...and its the nicest house I've ever been
in---in my entire life. Literally a mansion. The floors and
stairs are entirely made of GLASS. ....and this is in Tokyo. I don't even
want to begin to entertain how expensive this sort of lifestyle
is....but it just causes me to really see that the GOSPEL CAN TOUCH
ANYONE and it IS FOR EVERYONE. I've proselyted in some of the most
humble areas...and then this is just another world. Serving in Tokyo
has certainly exposed me to so many different ways of life. I'm so
grateful to be serving here.
Yesterday was fast and testimony meeting. It was really funny.
Something me and sister Brumley say is "we may understand the
language...but we still don't understand". I just love being in the
English ward. Everything from the members to the investigators. It's
just a trip.
Anyways. I love you guys soo much. Have a great week!
Love, MC
