Transfer 2 Week 1 Yachiyo
Konnichiwa!
Hello.
So I just got a call from the Zone Leaders, not the Assistants....I am staying in Yachiyo with Taneda shimai another transfer! So more language practice. This definitely means I have to train probably next transfer...but one more transfer to figure things out! I'm very relieved just to get that all over with!
Okay so this week.
Shibuya at the temple was so fun! I think I already talked about that in my letter last week. It was really cool though.
There is a really bad typhoon outside my window this morning....so we can't go out. It is supposed to clear up around 3 so we might go shopping then....I love rainy days and Mondays....because that means I can nap all day :)
Hmmm so this week was....just really fast. Very much a blur. I'm trying to remember everything.
On Wednesday we had a zone meeting. It was good. We are really emphasizing using the Book of Mormon in dendoing. We are also focusing on the fundamentals and teaching simply. I think that is good. The most sophisticated concepts are usually the simplest.
So on Thursday we met up with Christiansen and Nagamine shimai for our exchange. It was so fun! We taught a mogi lesson with a member, a less active spanish lesson, and then found 5 new investigators and taught 4 lessons on the street. It was very productive. It renewed my faith that even though the language is a challenge...we can still be missionaries. It was so fun seeing CSwags and just talking in English. I probably talked her ear off but it was so nice just to be able to express how I felt. Seeing her made me miss my MTC district. We kept talking about them and how funny it was in the MTC. We ate alot of bread and oreos while she was here. It was just really nice to see her.
On Friday, Taneda shimai and I had more mogi lessons with members. It has been good for me to practice my Japanese and kind of get familiar with teaching the lessons. It has also helped us get better acquainted with the members. We ate at the Ishige family's house on Friday
night. I love them. They are seriously the sweetest family and have the cutest baby. Just such a sweet family. Sister Ishige served a mission and can really relate to us. They are very young. Brother Ishige speaks English. He studied at the University of Utah. Seriously the nicest guy. Their baby is so cute and so genki and smiley! I want an asian baby!
On Saturday, Taneda shimai and I did weekly planning and started to get anxious about our transfer call. Luckily it seems everything has worked out! I'm glad to stay in the same place for a little bit...kind of settle in. We are able to communicate alot better now. I'm not sure if that is because she has learned English from me or if I've learned Japanese from her. Either way...it is just better now. We taught 2 lessons and followed up on a referral. It is a family that lives right next to the church. They are so sweet but in December they are moving to Usui....so we gotta get them baptized fast! We went and visited M-----san on Saturday night too. She is the Phillipino lady that speaks English and is kind of crazy. Well we visited and she was really funny. So the Japanese people put green tea in everything. She gave us these green tea kitkats....Taneda said we couldn't have them...Oh well.
On Sunday church was good. Taneda shimai and I bore our testimonies in relief society because we weren't sure what today would bring. I am really happy to still be here. I have a feeling I'm going to be here a long time though. I might get sick of it after a while. Hopefully my Japanese really improves this transfer.
I have to give a talk in Sacrament on the 29th...so that should be quite the experience. Hopefully I don't make a fool of myself....ehhh I am a little anxious about that. But I figure it is a chance to work on my Japanese.
So Taneda shimai is on the phone with Pope choro now. He got transferred to the honbu (mission home) area. So....I'm not surprised by that at all. So Stembridge choro is staying here in Yachiyo...but he isn't training...he is getting a followup trainer.
It will be interesting to see how the new missionaries coming in this week shake up the mission. A record 35 new missionaries. Should be interesting.
Anyways. I miss you. Sometimes I get really homesick...but I know this experience is so good for me.
I'm not the only one feeling this way. Haderlie shimai calls me every week to "talk to someone in English". She is in my same situation, except in the honbu.
Oh well. Here is hoping for an awesome second transfer.
Ai shite imasu!
I love you!
