Ohaiyo goazaimasu!
Good morning!
It is 8 am in Japan.
This week started off tough but ended on a really positive note. We had stake conference last week and I just didn't understand anything...to top that off...I just was upset because I learned how much easier it was for everyone else. In the other companionships they speak English all the time. For me there is just never any kind of reprieve. I am constantly being talked to in Japanese...even at "home" when I have a headache. So yeah. Last week was tough.
But I'm doing much better now.
I recieved an email from my old district!
They are so cute and sweet! I miss them so much! But hearing from everyone made me so glad I'm out here! It is like we are all doing this together just in different places!
I also heard from Berkeley! He is just baptizing so much! I don't know how that is happening but I wish I was being that effective here! I am so happy he is doing well!
Tuesday and Wednesday this week were good. They were very busy. My wish to stop riding trains was NOT fulfilled. We had to go to Chiba on both days. Tuesday we had President interviews. I have been very positive in my letters and interviews with my mission president. I think that is just the best way to handle it. We also had a district meeting Tuesday. Taneda shimai did training and talked alot about love.
After our meeting we went to Itoh shimai's house and taught a lesson. I'm not sure what it was that I ate there...but I did my best to just swallow it. The stuff here in Japan doesn't always taste bad...but the texture of things is sort of slimy and stuff...and I just never know what I'm eating...I am not fond of chewing stuff that is the same texture as my gums or my tongue. It feels weird to me.
Truth be told, I'd rather eat ramen or cereal than go to member houses for dinner. I just never know what I'll be served. You should really stop feeding the missionaries Mom...lol that way I don't get "blessed" anymore. Haha Tokyo mission gets the most money out of any mission, 40000 yen a month. Thats way more than American missionaries get. Granted...a peach is 500 yen here...hahaha...so theres a trade off. But really we've been struggling alot with finding new investigators so ya'll should be come more involved with member missionary work so I can get blessed that way!
I have come to find that I enjoy the days that I sweat like a pig to be more enjoyable. I like working hard. It allows me to think less about myself and more about why I'm here :)
On Wednesday we did a blitz with the shimaitachi in Chiba. It was so fun. I learned that streeting has no rules. Like Eigo is OKAY! The Japanese love english. And they love Americans! I was successful, even with other gaijin missionaries. I placed 3 BOM's and then I got to see Cswags...which was awesome! We are going on an exchange next week so we will be doryos! We also had Eikaiwa Wednesday, which is my favorite! We talked about the 5 senses and after class one of the Japanese guys came up to me and said in perfect English "Isn't the 6th sense, intuition?" It was the funniest thing I've ever heard... I don't know where these Japanese people get this stuff hahaha.
Thursday was a tough day...as expected. Because we'd been busy I realized that we had no lessons. But then we followed up on a referral and got an appointment Friday.
Friday...when we went housing...it was unsuccessful....to say the least. So with a dampened spirit, we went to meet our potential investigator at a sushi restaurant.
Her name is Omura-san! She is so cute! She's 23 and for the first time I actually engaged in conversation with them! It was a blast...even in Japanese. I can communicate...even if my Japanese is bad...I am able to understand alot more now! It feels so good! The headaches have almost gone away too! We got another appointment with her this week so that is exciting.
Saturday was not a success housing. M san was not home and S san #1 was not home either. But S san#2 was home! And guess what...she's from the Phillipines and only speaks Cebuano and English...so guess who taught the lesson in English by herself - ME! It was so awesome. She wants us to come back. It is a sticky situation because...all her kids and family have been baptized...but apparently her grandmother raised her and was catholic...and her grandmother made her promise not to be baptized in another faith...so its sticky. I don't know how we are going to deal with that.
Sunday was good. I woke up thinking "Georgia is probably playing Clemson right now"...I also had a dream that Alabama got beat. I guess my dream didn't come true....as for Georgia. sounds like they are living up to expectations...oh to heck with them! Go Jackets! How bout my boy Vad Lee! Putting up numbers! Atta boy!
Georgia Tech...like they either blow you out...or they get blown out. It is just our life... haha.
We ate at the Ishige family's home last night! It was so fun! There are so many young couples with little kids in our ward! The shimaitachi in our ward are all so cool and all served missions! It's awesome. Anyways. I got to go. We have Zone Pday...whatever that means...so limited time. But I love you.
Ai shite imasu!
