My wonderful kazoku!
Here's to being Dai Sempi. Woot!!
Sunday.
Today was fast Sunday. We had mission conference so the day went by pretty fast.
We got new sister training leaders, Haderlie and Ivory shemai. Snow shemai and I also got a calling, we are the branch Portal leaders. I have no idea what the missionary portal is...so
we'll be figuring out what that is exactly this week.
Sunday night we watched the Joseph Smith movie in Nihongo. I made it a personal goal to be best friends with everyone in the district. I believe you can be everyones friend. I also set a lot of goals this week. There's this epic President Monson quote about memorizing a scripture a day and how it will give you a photographic memory. So I've taken the challenge. I figure it will help me get the language/know the gospel better/help me later in life.
Today I memorized D & C 4.
I also decided I was sick of not understanding characters. So the memorizing of kana will commence.
Monday.
Monday was boring as usual. I'm kind of at the point where I can tell which days I'm gonna be in a good mood and when I'm gonna be in a bad mood. I've established a routine.
Today Snow Shimai was showing symptoms of being sick. So I hope she gets better and I don't get her cold.
We did biking in gym today. I'm telling you, I'm gonna come home with buns of steel.
Today I memorized 3 Nephi 11:14
Tuesday.
Today I started memorizing D & C 122; the section. It's kind of depressing. Especially at the beginning.
Katakana is going well.
I'm growing weary of the bunpo (grammar) games...the don't exactly make me feel like I'm half way through my bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering.
There is a trend among the chorotachi. They've started all bringing in these mini whiteboards. They don't appear to be being abused yet...they are pretty much using them for educational purposes. So we will see.
Today I played soccer. I love soccer Tuesdays.
Wednesday.
Our lesson with Shohei on the atonement went awesome today.
Still on section 122
Thursday.
I think Snow shimai is dying of a disease.. I really hope she gets to feeling better.
Kyo we taught Komeda-san. We were going to briefly setsume Jubun no ichi (law of the tithe) and then focus on the WOW today. Mochiron, things never go according to plan. Soshite...we ended up taking about jubun no ichi the whole time...and were just floudnering. We were really unprepared. I feel dumb. Why would giving 10% of your income to the kyokai be an issue at all??? Of course its an issue. We were dumb about that.
Today I finished memorizing section 122. The end is alot better. Also I enjoyed the millions of stamps on the package I recieved today Mom. It made me laugh.
In addition...today I broke down and bought a white board. It's made learing kana alot easier. During gengo benkyo however...I may have lost focus and started to draw orthographic cylinders...soshite...me and a bunch of the chorotachi decided to draw a laser gun. Cottle choro and I agreed that it should just look really cool and be aesthetically pleasing, but Jacox choro (he's really into guns) wanted to include alot of gun features. Greenburg choro, my fellow engineer, of course was more interested on the inner components and functionality. He wanted it to be powered by a fuel cell. Taking all these ideas into consideration we eventually all just decided to draw our own version of the laser gun. I think my laser gun will be useful in space wars against aliens.
Friday.
The Eigo fast made today seem super long.
Today I got hit in the head with a basketball again...but it was my doryo! Snow shimai....hmmm...I guess I forgive her.
Today I accidentally called Snow shimai, Julia. Olsen choro reprimanded me...but then I explained to him that because I am so perfect here at the MTC...I have to sometimes call her Julia so that I have something to repent for.
Oh today I also recieved a letter from Sis Sirmans. She included a bunch of stuff from Berk. He already has baptisms!!! Thats so amazing! I hope I am that productive.

Dad I like what you said about the Japanese. I would agree that they are a disciplined people and I could learn alot from their culture. I also agree that the society could be greatly influenced by the principles of the Gospel...though I fear they are a people set in their ways, and therefore less reluctant to accept the gospel. I hope I am successful.
Something I'm learning, above all else from observations...is that to understand the gospel...is not to have a deep or complex understanding. The gospel is simple. The Savior taught in simple terms. I want to teach like the Savior. While I'm not strugglig with Japanese...I certainly have so much to learn. And it seems that simple...is the only way I know how to testify. But I think my simple humble testimony will be able to touch hearts in ways that an eloquent puffed up witness wouldn't be able too. So I really hope that the people I teach have been prepared...and can see the gospel in my eyes and know...no matter how kantan (simple) my akashi is...its true. Anyways. I love you guys.
