Konnichiwa Kozoku!!!!
Hi family. I recieved your lovely letters. All SEVEN of them.... My district leader made fun of me for all the letters. Anyways...where to begin.
Jerry and Louann were incredibly sweet when I left for the MTC...It was a lonely first night without you though. I told Mom that the scriptures really helped me that night. In Timothy 2, it talks about being soldiers of Christ. Suffering as he suffered. Reigning as he reigns. It gave me a lot of courage. I seemed to be at peace the day I went into the MTC. It was like I was completely able to just turn off my instinct to run away...despite how scared I was. The first afternoon we were here we sang "We'll Bring the World His Truth." They changed the words to "we are NOW the Lord's missionaries." Obviously. It made me cry like a baby.
Anyways, my roommates are all in my district. We are all going to Tokyo supposedly and got a letter from President Budge. So we will see if we all go to Tokyo or if we go to Tokyo south. Apparently theres a ton of missionaries coming in July that were called to Tokyo south.
Sister Christiansen and Moss Shimeitachi(Sisters) are each others doryo(companion). They don't say much. They pretty much both just look really tired all the time. Haderle and Ivory Shimeitachi are interesting and each others doryo. My doryo is Snow shimei....the girl from Tyler Mower's ward! She's so sweet. I really like her. We have both committed to working very hard here and are trying to be the kine doryo...which we think means golden companionship? I'm not sure. My Nihongo(Japanese) grammar is attrocious and I have no clue how their sentence structure works. Anyways we are trying to be the best and be super obedient. I have to say, despite the initial homesickness...I really love it here. The schedule wears me out, but I feel better rested than I have in years. Who'd have though waking up every day at 6 would do that! In other news our sensei(teacher) only speaks to us in Nihong, it's sort of annoying, but I cannot believe how much I've learned. I can now bear my akashta(testimony) and give inori (prayers). Snow shemei and I try to pray every night in Nihongo and bless our food in Nihongo. Yesterday we had our first kyudosha(investigator). His name is Tominaga. We royally botched the first lesson, though we did get an invitation back...I think? Idk...it was hard to understand lol.
Oh so our visas...might be a little late. We got notice from the travel office yesterday for our whole district. We might be serving in Hawaii until our visas come in. They have a few Japanese speaking missions there. The elders in my district are basically the boys...yes- they are all 18/19...fresh outta high school most of them, including my zone leaders and the sister assistants. I feel very old here. I'm also not used to constant companionship. Snow shimei is great...but sometimes...like haha...I get gas really bad...and there is nothing I can do about it. Have to hold it in...pray it goes away quietly lol....
Here's my testimony/akashi:
Iesu Kirisuto ga Sukuinuishi da to shite imasu.
Kamisama mina san o ai suru to shite imasu.
Sukui no Keikaku ga shinjitsu to shite imasu.
Iesu Kirisuto was kyokai o michibikimasu.
Iesu Kirisuto no mina ni youte o-akashi shimasu, amen.
