The Konnichiest of Wa's to you and Yours!
Hello Happy Thanksgiving!
It's not Thanksgiving here but....hope you have a great holiday!
I'll be missing the football and the food, but know I'm grateful for
everyone writing me and what not! Everyone is so awesome to keep up
with me! I've been truly blessed.

This week.....choto isogashi. Pretty busy.
Japanese, it's still evil. I wonder if I'll ever like it.
Tuesday we had a big 2 Mission Taikai. It was in the Tokyo South
Mission - so I got to leave my mission! My companion got to see alot
of friends from the South Mission because it split while I was in the
MTC. Elder Evans of the Mission Presidency came to visit us. He gave
us the inside scoop on the age change decision and how it has impacted
the church. He also talked for an unusually long time about getting
MARRIED. What? President Budge had the assistants email us every
day about preparing to meet with an apostle and how we are expected to
behave...and then he talks about marriage? It was interesting. He told
us to "keep our eyes open...even when we are on a mission" WHAT??? It
was interesting and awkward. I don't think any of us have heard stuff
like that for a while. Everyone was pretty much looking at their shoes
the whole time.
We also talked...of course...about being more effective missionaries.
It was good training. They want us to focus our efforts on working
with the members. Recently we've been bringing
Japanese, it's still evil. I wonder if I'll ever like it.

with the members. Recently we've been bringing
alot of investigators to church...and I think that is how we are
gaining their trust.... bringing people...showing them that we are
effective. .
We had a Tokyo Mission Christmas conference afterwards. It was good.
Strange, celebrating Christmas so early....but good never the less. It was
what I needed mid transfer.
We had a lot of cancelled appointments this week. That was taihen
but...gunbaro, ne?
We are just keeping the hope alive.
There was a lot of "phone" drama this week. Both us and
the Elders lost our phones. We found them thankfully but...it was
scary for a while.
Speaking of technology....The Tokyo and Tokyo South missions are now the
pilot missions for the mini ipad. Each missionary, not companionship,
get's their own mini ipad that they get to keep for their entire
mission. So it is very exciting being a Tokyo missionary :) I'll only
have to carry my ipad around soon....no scriptures or anything. It
will be good. Since they made the "no backpack rule' my shoulder has
seriously gotten so bad. I think I might have to get surgery or
something on it when I get home. Ugh....... I'm aging on my mission.
All the Elders get tall and handsome and I am just getting old and my
joints and bones hurt. My knee pops when I ride my bike...and I'm
just tired sometimes. I feel like I'm getting old haha.
That is what's going on. I am going to send pics.
In one of these pic I'm going to send, I'm wearing a mask. It is because Nihon-jin
walk around wearing these masks all the time. I used to think they
wore them to keep from getting sick. But it almost seems like a
fashion statement.
I continue to try and make dendo FUN. Somedays it is not that fun
haha...but I'm trying to make it a great experience.
I want you to know that I love you. Thanks so much to everyone for their
prayers and support.
